Prisoners making Cane Chairs, Yarrowda Jail
Yerwada Jail was one of the most famous in India. Convicted prisoners in Indian jails are often given different tasks while they serve their sentence like preparing meals for the inmates, doing laundry and making cane chairs.
Government House, Madras
Combridge & Co. were among the earliest publishers of India postcards, a number of which they printed as cyanotypes, a blueish monochrome print popular around the turn of the century. This building still exists, but is now the Madras Club.
