An early Exposition postcard by a German exotic people's promoter and founder of the modern zoo. In this early postcard, the name of the printer is given towards the top left corner (Th. Wendisch, Berlin S.W. 13), the name of a post service (Stefanpost) is next to it, towards the bottom left corner is a "Reproduction Forbidden" notice, as well as a number. Note the palm trees, a common European signifier of the "Orient," as well as the rich detail of the lithograph; postcards within a few years became less expensive and less artistic.
