Band Stand, People's Park, Madras

Once one of the jewels of Chennai, the People's Park was constructed between 1859-1861 and extended over 112 acres. Today it is apparently largely neglected with much of the land used for other purposes. This card was mailed in 1909 to England, with a simple "Greetings from ACS" on the back to a Mrs. Sharpe, 12 Church Lane, Merton Park, Surrey England. The postal cancellation from London that is visible on the front.
