Gopal Krishna Gokhale (1866–1915) was a leading moderate nationalist, social reformer and parliamentarian in early 20th‑century India, best known as founder of the Servants of India Society and as an important political mentor to both M. K.
Sharif al Mujahid in his book In Quest of Jinnah Diary, Notes and Correspondence of Hector Bolitho (pp. 51-2), which collates many unpublished pieces by Jinnah's first biographer, includes this excerpt dated 11 April [1952]:
"Visit to Liaquat Gardens
Possibly the earliest postcard of a named Indian ruler, the Nizam of Hyderabad, Mahbood Ali Khan, Asif Jah VI, one of the world's richest men and ruler of Hyderabad state from 1869 until 1911.
Postmarked Deccan, unclear date, and Dautzer [Germany?],
Phoenix Printing Works was one of the largest publishers of postcards of political leaders, including this less common casual view of Rashtrapati [President] Nehru in sandals.

The former Town Hall is now the Gandhi Bhawan Library and was built in an Indo-Saracenic style blending Western and Eastern elements. It was inaugurated in 1892.
Construction of the Karachi Municipal Corporation offices began in 1895 with foundation stone laying.

One owner of this card, not postmarked, wrote on the back: "Parliament Building, New Delhi cribbed from the Colosseum at Rome."
The photograph was probably taken soon after is was opened in January 1927 to serve the Imperial Legislative Council.
