A very early postcard of Mt. Everest, probably printed in 1901 or earlier, by Darjeeling's premiere studio, run by the Austrian Thomas Paar. Although barely visible, this is actually an embossed image, with the black foreground raised in relief against the snow-capped peaks in the background. An early postcard innovation!
