An official postcard from what was the largest exhibition ever held in London, and the first organized by two nations together. It drew some 8 million visitors to an area known later as "White City" because all the buildings were painted white. One can see part of the word "India" on the building in the background on the side, and the word "Ceylon Tea" in the foreground building; tea was then becoming integral to British life, in part due to the marketing at events like this.
