Postcards of post offices at the turn of the century were quite popular, as if celebrating an institution and network that was becoming more important as image postcards and communication volume increased throughout the continent. This is a particularly striking one by H.A. Mirza and Sons, with the embossed frame enhancing the geometric arches set-off by a true and red-tiled roof. A modernistic gloss and sharp shadows help enhance the role of this simple building as a temple of communication.
