When NWFP [now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] was created in 1901, a legal framework (NWFP Law and Justice Regulation VII) was enacted to set up judicial institutions for the new province under a Judicial Commissioner, placing the province’s highest judicial authority in Peshawar. The court's status has undergone changes since then, and is now the Peshawar High Court.
This postcard is actually a combination of photograph (the garden) and a superimposed line drawing (the building) which seems to have been characteristic of early postcards, perhaps for clarity or to save ink or simply to emphasize the structure.
