B. G. Horniman was a British journalist and editor of who became one of the staunchest press allies of the Indian freedom movement in the early 20th century. He is best known as the nationalist editor of The Bombay Chronicle and for exposing the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, for which he was deported to Britain for 7 years. That he was honored with a postcard by Joshi Brothers who published postcards of all leading freedom fighters speaks to the high regard with which he was held by Indians; Mumbai’s Horniman Circle Gardens in the Fort area are named in his honour.
