Possibly the earliest postcard of a named Indian ruler, the Nizam of Hyderabad, Mahbood Ali Khan, Asif Jah VI, one of the world's richest men and ruler of Hyderabad state from 1869 until 1911.

Phoenix Printing Works was one of the largest publishers of postcards of political leaders, including this less common casual view of Rashtrapati [President] Nehru in sandals.

The former Town Hall is now the Gandhi Bhawan Library and was built in an Indo-Saracenic style blending Western and Eastern elements. It was inaugurated in 1892.
Construction of the Karachi Municipal Corporation offices began in 1895 with foundation stone laying.

The photograph was probably taken soon after is was opened in January 1927 to serve the Imperial Legislative Council.
