An extremely rare postcard from India where stamps have been cut and pasted on the domes of the mosque. Postcards made from cut stamps, sometimes (wrongly) called macerated stamp postcards were actually a Chinese tradition and led to an exceptional tradition of postcards from roughly the 1920s through 1940s where the entire design was based on carefully cut stamps coordinated by color to create human figures, often against a watercolor backdrop. Each card was handmade and cleverly re-used stamps. This tradition never caught on in India, with occasional exceptions like this card (one can find examples elsewhere in the world too).
