A very rare postcard, both because it is from East Bengal now Bangladesh and because it is a very early real photo postcard, a type that did not come into prominence until the next decade. Fritz Kapp was among the few, if not only, European photographer to set up shop in Dhaka around 1903-04 after a decade or more working in Kolkata and Darjeeling. This postcard seems to have been part of a series on Nahapiet & Co.'s jute factory, the dominant crop in the region well into the 20th century.
