A very early postcard printed in India (postmarked Dec. 1902 in one instance) by the lithographer W. Cooper. The chance discovery of another photographic postcard shows how a scene like this was composed. It shows three women in a studio, two of them in identical poses with the same pots in front of the one on the right. The third women, inbetween the two here has been removed, and the city background with a well inserted. At the very least, it shows how easily early artists combined and re-arranged images to produce something new and, in their opinion more suitable for a postcard.
