At the 1911 Coronation Durbar in Delhi, “Kingsway” was the imperial processional axis and service corridor tied to the tented Durbar camp, used to move people, troops, and supplies and to stage ceremonial movement in a controlled, spectacular way. Light railway lines connected camps and the amphitheatre at Coronation Park, with Kingsway functioning as part of the planned circulation system.

In today’s Delhi, the 1911 Durbar-related “Kingsway” camp area is best known as Kingsway Camp, renamed Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar (GTB Nagar) in 1970. Separately, the grand New Delhi ceremonial boulevard that the British called Kingsway (the Central Vista axis) became Rajpath after independence and is now officially Kartavya Path (since 2022).
