The Indian Army - Indians Washing

Scenes of Indian troops washing were witnessed by French inhabitants, especially women who often found the soldiers attractive. Oral histories of soldiers, letters from French women, and evidence of children born and British complaints about censored letters written between soldiers and women all testify to this, as do postcards.
