The post office, a common subject of early postcards. They celebrated the vast network that brought these simple personal objects from one part of the earth to another; the more remote the post office, like this one in the hillstation/cantonment of Ranikhet (now in Uttarakhand district), and once under Nepali administration. The word "post Office" is legible on the left side of the building, but the "Notice" on the other side is illegible. Note what seems to be a melting snowman on the right. Ranikhet's residents around this time numbered about 3,000, less than half the summer population.
