Karachi Zoo, originally the site of a factory founded by the East India company in 1799, was renamed Gandhi Garden in 1934 in honor of a visit to the city by Mahatma Gandhi. This card was published by Johnny Stores, one of the city's leading real photo postcard publishers, run by a photographer whose real name was Janki Das.
This card is postmarked in Bombay in 1936, and was sent to "Mrs. W. Reston, Main Street, Manheim, Pa. [Pennsylvania], U.S.A." and simply says on the back "Karachi. India. Jack"
