This was probably an advertising card for the Queen's Hotel, Kandy Lake, near the Temple of the Buddha's Tooth, and one of Sri Lanka's oldest continuously operating hotels, opened in 1869.
Edler & Krische is often misattributed as a French postcard publisher; the firm was actually a German printer/publisher based in Hannover (Hanover), and its name shows up on postcards and other printed ephemera as the printer (“Edler & Krische, Hannover”).
