Guerre 1914 - Hindu Fumant La Pipe [Indian Smoking a Hookah]
Postmarked May 24, 1919, some six months after World War I was over, though the card itself is probably dated earlier. Note the European man apparently smoking a pipe in the background.

Maybe it is the hookahs and Arab head dress of the main in the green robe smoking a cigarette, but this seems to be a scene in Bombay bazaar. The electrotype (imprint on the back) matches that of Clifton & Co.
[Original caption] The Kaid sits at his ease smoking his narghileh whose gilded bow his slave adroitly feds with tiny lumps of tobacco, keef or opium.
A distinctly colored postcard, with the pinkish mud offsetting the green grass and white garb of the smoker. Note the little boy and half-hidden woman watching from the hut.
