An early and rare early photo postcard, made with a photograph pasted on card stock.
The bicycle was something quite new in Bombay at the turn of the century, and often featured on postcards, frequently with women as drivers.
A captivating blend of technologies: in the back railway cars, transporting bags of wheat which find their way on to camel carts with brand name rubber tires. Camels were a popular means of transport in Karachi through the 1950s.

A curious real photo postcard, possibly taken at a Simla, of a local woman in a rickshaw, published in Lausanne, Switzerland.
While the word "dandy" suggests being fashionable, and may be a secondary meaning, the word is said to actually come from "dandi" or the Hindi/Urdu word for stick, which are used to distribute the woman's weight across them men's shoulders.

An early British Royal Air Force base in Pishin, Balochistan, near the Afghan border and what was then Northwest Frontier Province where the British were engaged in suppressing tribal resistance throughout the 192s and 1930s.
Opened in 1888, the message on this postcard, dated October 12, 1905 (and postmarked in Ambala on Nov. 11) is correct: "Dear Aunt This is about the largest Railway Terminus in the World. with Love from T.H.H."
A poignant hand-painted card by an A. White, likely on this ship as it was leaving India after Independence.
A rather subtle Eid Mubarak ["Blessed or Happy Eid"] blends into the colorful sky as a train plows through the landscape. Bombay and Lahore were the centers of Eid card production before and in the decades after Partition.
