A. Ghasiram

A. Ghasiram may have been a son or relative of Ghasiram Haradev Sharma (1868-1930), master painter at Nathdwara, about 50 km from Udaipur, and a renowned center of devotional painting linked to the temple to ShriNath Ji, a reincarnation of Krishna. Not many of the Brij Basi postcards are signed, so it is likely that A. Ghasiram was a prominent painter or that these examples were originally painted on a larger canvas and photographed before being turned into bromide photographs and then hand-coloured.
