MacDonald "Max" Gill was a well-regarded illustrator whose work for the ITMEB (International Team Market Expansion Board) helped popularize, in particular, Ceylon [Sri Lankan] tea during the 1930s. A large map he made, Tea Revives the Word "depicted the global history of tea," in the words of Erika Rappaport's excellent A Thirst for Empire (2017, p. 302). Advertising artworks like his did a lot to promote tea-drinking globally.
