Merton Lacey (1902-1996) was a pioneering Anglo-Indian cartoonist who made animated cartoons, advertisements and other creative works including these postcards. He worked as a Fox Movietone newsreel cameraman in Kolkata, and after Independence moved to New Zealand where he also was a successful cartoonist.
