Werner Rossler was one of the earliest publishers of postcards of Calcutta, with a number of postmarked examples going back to 1897. Omar Khan talks about these postcards, what little is known about this possibly Austrian photographer in the city who has his exquisite lithographic postcards printed in Austria, and looks at one or two examples written and signed by Rossler himself.
