Indian Postman

An early Belgian advertising card for Lux – but not the soap! Rather this Lux is a replacement for butter, said to be "without rival," and "the best to replace butter with." It was published by a retailer in Antwerp, Belgium in the early days of the postcard industry, when it was expensive to manufacture a lithograph like this, which may also explain why the space for the image is rather small. It is labeled "Hindu Postman" which likely stands for Indian postman in this context.
